Pages Blanches (Français)

Tracking someone down or finding out more information about someone has become a lot easier thanks to online directories such as white pages. Gone are the days of calling the operator or directory enquiries, or searching through a physical phone book (although they do actually still exists believe it or not) - instead, anyone can simply go online, visit an online directory/resource like white pages and they will have all the information (or at the very least some of it) at their fingertips. No effort required, just a computer, tablet or smartphone, and an internet connection.

For more information about white pages then we highly recommend the following website:

But what other resources exist? In today’s article we delve into the world of finding information online by exploring the various sites and applications that anyone can use to locate information (or perhaps you’re looking to start you’re own private investigation business?!) - either way, here’s the top white pages type sites that can help you find anyone online…

1) Google: Although this is an extremely obvious place to start, it is so obvious that sometimes people forget to use it. Google has pretty much more information on it than any other resource so it is always the best starting place. But what to search for? It’s easy. Simply put in the person’s name (first and last) and their location, and click search. If you have any more information about them then you can add that in too (the more information you have the better the chances are of you locating the information you are after).

2) Facebook: Another obvious site, but one that will probably provide more information than Google. Just as with Google, enter the persons names and their location and see what comes up. Facebook does allow users to make their profiles private, i.e. they cannot be searched for publicly and will not appear in search results, but on the whole not very many people actually do this.

3) Pipl: This is where we start to take a different path. Pipl is different to standard white page style sites/directories because it has access to information that isn’t on regular search engines such as Google or Yahoo. Pipl scours the invisible web for the name and information that you have provided. Although it won’t always throw up information that isn’t available on Google, you never know, so trying it is certainly worthwhile.

4) Linkedin: Linkedin is probably the world’s largest business and professional networking site, with hundreds of millions of members. Although not everyone will be a member, there’s a good chance that they will be, so if you’re trying to track down the location of someone then what better way than to find out where they work? As you would expect, all you need to do is enter their name and see what comes up - if they’re on there then you’ll find them…eventually.

5) Zillow: If you’re interested in finding out about property then this is the one for you. Zillow can be used to see how much a property is worth (and how much it has been worth in the past), how much houses near that property are worth, what local resources there, and things of that nature. Although tihs won’t tell you about the occupants, it is perfect for property-based research and from our experience it is extremely accurate and up to date.

As you can see, there are numerous resources out there similar to white pages that can be used to locate information. Although this isn’t an exhaustive list by any means, it should give you a helping hand in searching for that person that you’re trying to track down or find out information about.
